Episode 14: This is the work (Solocast)

Listen and Subscribe:

Last week, my oldest son called me out.

Actually, that’s sugarcoating it. What he said was that I was a “f*cking idiot!”

The worst part is that he was mostly right.

In this solocast, I spend 40 minutes in honest self-reflection about what this “new normal” is really bringing up for me — the good, bad and ugly.

During the episode, we’re going to chat about…

Remembering the soul work in the midst of professional work, something I’ve completely fumbled lately . (Hence, my son’s comment)

Staying aware of our escape mechanisms when we’re feeling a lot or feeling nothing at all. (I’ve escaped into busyness during the quarantine. We’ll talk about when I woke up to this, the immediate steps I took to return to equilibrium.)

Practices that have helped me return to the (real) work, stay connected to my family and, in the end, stop being a “fu*king idiot” during this “new normal.”

I started recording this session thinking it would be a 4 minute clip to link to my newsletter. 40 minutes later, it turned into an invitation for you and I to have an honest conversation about leaning into discomfort rather than bypassing it.

Please enjoy this special episode. It is a reminder of the intention behind this podcast. It’s my personal journey to UNLEARN my own conditioning.

I hope this helps shine a light on YOUR journey towards unLEARNing.
